This course was easier to follow than the sea and sails course. Clear, easy to understand instructions.
I am absolutely in love with Julia's way of painting,, excellent lesson incredibly informative ad extremely enjoyable and very easy to follow. Hope to become as good as she is with my boats and water! There are many courses out there and I have followed many, but noone has been so helpful and useful both for technique and instructions provided.
I really loved the lesson, have learned more from Julia Barminova. Thank you. I will practice more to improve.

Following Julia while painting is amazing…I struggled with having to follow instructions, mixing colors while I don’t have all the same hue and painting at the same time but I really enjoy the practice and hope there would be more English courses from her soon.

I really loved it! Soooo many details, soo beautiful and useful! The only part where I wish the process was not cut is when Julia paints the waves, as a fundamental step and I have the feeling in some parts there were tiny little details missing of how she did it. But overall I have loved it and I am looking forward to trying it over and over again!
Excellent course, as usual Julia is the best teacher ever! Not so easy as it took me a lot of time to practice what she said but learnt so much and had just so much fun!

Julia's explanations were very helpful for understanding how to paint the sea. I had the wrong paper (no 100% cotton), but I'm happy with the first result though. I'm curious how my paintings will look when I have bought 100% cotton paper. Thank you very much!
My biggest discover was learning sea and water reflection.
The reveal of the ‘secret’ that colors matters and using one wash. Yes , i liked the course .
I like this course with a lot of details with the colours and the sketch. I didn't know that we can draw the reflections on the sea !
Julia Barminova is the best teacher and I love her style very much. Hope there will be much more courses from her, for example painting lanterns or buildings :-)

Sea an Sails workshop by @juliabarminova was amazing. She is one of the best artists for painting water, ofcourse all her other paintings are also equally exceptional. Always wanted to learn from her. Thank you for conducting the workshop in English.Really enjoyed learning from her and painting with her during the workshop. Wish to paint with her in person someday. It was wonderful work shop.. I was waiting for Julia’s English speaking workshop and was happy to attend.. I tried once painting after the workshop and hope I will improve in painting waves .. thank you
Used materials, colour theory, creating textures, usefull exercises to master it all..... It was a very complete introduction. To see all this applied to a exemple painting was very helpfull as well. My secound course with Julia and looking forward to the next one. Thanks, Tomas

excellent course with very good and comprehensible explanations
I was able to explore more of watercolour techniques for my personal practices.
The course was very good and very intense. I did not know we had to work simultaneously with Julia so I got behind from the start and did not finish in time to upload for review. However I had some very nice hours afterwards following the course on replay and painting the hydrangeas. I love the way it is filmed so that you can follow the actual painting process live - that is very informative and there are lots of big discoveries in watching how Julia works. Great course.
Julia explained everything really nice and I had some mind-blown moments when I thought "oh this explains a lot, why I don't like some of my paintings" because I didn't thought much about contrasts of colors before. But now I will :) It was a bit difficult to read the english subtitles and watch Julia painting simultaneously, but it worked with stopping the videos and going back.
This lesson is very detailed, it's exactly what i was looking for . Thank you
Excellent course very well explained, my only regret is that subtitles in English àre not fully available for lesson 2 ànd I could not find a reference photo, other than that Julia is an excellent teacher and I learned a lot !

Fantastic ! Amacing to have a course with Elena Bazanova in english ! What I liked the most is the english subtitles so I can understand what she says and not just view the lessons. I have followed a number of Elenas courses but since I don´t understand russian I miss out on a lot of theory - great to have the opportunity to understand what she explains. I hope there will be a lot more of her courses with english subtitles or maybe the possibility to buy subtitles to the courses I allready have in russian. Thanks a lot for this free lesson.
Thank you Julia Barminova and Lectoroom! Great course. I have not had much experience painting the sea. I found most helpful the description in the beginning showing the right amount of wetness the paper should have for the waves. I also found her steps extremely helpful...showing the waves first...then reflections...the details and then on to the less detailed boats etc. Really fantastic. I would have loved her saying what colours she was mixing more since I was looking down a lot and didn't see what she had picked. But I watched the recording and paused so it was fine. Again. Great lesson. Thank you!!!
